Carson Macartney Myotherapist standing in front of gym

About Carson

I Started my first year practising as a Myotherapist on 2013

I was led to work in healthcare and injuries from the injuries I suffered as a young guy playing footy. I had some awesome therapists who helped me with my pain and injuries at that time, along with some pretty uninspiring ones.

Truly, the best results I got were due to the practitioner who listens, had intent and were clear in explaining the process of rehab and getting better.

These values are what Paramount is based around:

  • Giving the patient a clear outline on their pain and injury

  • Providing effective treatment and excellent care.

Personal

Outside of being a Myo

I Played local footy in the EFL which I’ve now retired from. I also played a few years of soccer which I was quite average at but loved!

I love going to AFL games, along with staying up to stupid hours of the night watching soccer and test cricket.

Over weekends I like to get out of Melbourne if possible, I relax with a solid wine or Single Malt.

Nowadays for exercise I’m in the gym trying to put some weight on my skinny frame. As well as finishing Run The Gap, a Trail half marathon in 2022.

Education

A huge part of rehabilitation is education. I believe it is one of the primary roles of a healthcare provider is to educate the patient on their condition. Understanding the beast that is your injury, the drivers, the relievers, why it hurts and what caused it.

This gives power and control to you, the patient, as you can plan, design and eventually work past your injury.
